Terms of Service

The agreement between you and us when you use Sekkei.

In short

1. Who we are

Sekkei ("we", "us") is operated by Mario Ruci, Switzerland. You can reach us at info@sekkei.dev. By creating an account or using Sekkei, you accept these terms. If you use it on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you may accept them for that organization.

2. A free preview, provided as is

Sekkei is under development and offered free of charge as a preview. It is provided "as is" and "as available". We may change, limit, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time, with or without notice. It may contain errors, be unavailable, or lose or corrupt data.

We make no promises about the service, express or implied, including that it will be available, secure, error-free, accurate or fit for any purpose. Don't rely on it as your only copy of anything.

3. Your account

You sign in with Internet Identity. We never hold a password for you and cannot recover your account if you lose access to your Internet Identity, so keep your passkeys and recovery methods safe. You are responsible for everything done through your account. You must be at least 16 to use Sekkei.

4. Your content and your copies

You keep all rights to what you create in Sekkei. You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store, copy, display and process your content so that you and the people and agents you choose can work with it.

You are solely responsible for your content, for having the right to put it into Sekkei, and for keeping your own backups. Every document can be exported as Markdown, HTML, PDF or Word. Don't store information in Sekkei whose loss or disclosure would seriously harm you or others, such as health, financial or other especially sensitive personal data.

5. Organizations

Documents created inside an organization belong to that organization. Its owner and admins decide who can join, what roles members have and what happens to its documents, including after someone leaves. We are not involved in, or responsible for, those decisions or disputes between members.

6. AI agents

You can connect AI agents and give them access to documents. An agent acts on your behalf and within the permissions you give it, and you are solely responsible for what it does. Whatever it reads is also processed by its provider under your agreement with them. We don't control third-party agents and are not responsible for them or their output. Check what they write before relying on it.

7. Services we rely on

Sekkei depends on services we don't control, including the Internet Computer network, Internet Identity, the sign-in providers you choose, and the AI agents you connect. We are not responsible for their availability, security or conduct.

8. Acceptable use

Don't use Sekkei to:

9. Fees

Sekkei is free during the preview. If we introduce paid plans, nothing will be charged without your agreement, and paid plans will come with their own terms.

10. Suspension and ending

You can stop using Sekkei and delete your data at any time from your profile. We may suspend or close any account, or end the preview or the service, at any time and for any reason, including a breach of these terms. Where it is reasonably possible, we will try to give you notice so you can export your documents.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damage or loss arising from your use of Sekkei or your inability to use it, including lost or corrupted data, lost profits, business interruption, or indirect and consequential loss. This applies whatever the legal basis of the claim.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. During the free preview, that is zero.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Swiss law, such as liability for intent or gross negligence, or rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

12. Your responsibility to us

You agree to compensate us for claims, losses and reasonable costs, including legal fees, that third parties bring against us because of your content, your agents or your breach of these terms.

13. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. The current version, with its date, is always on this page. If you keep using Sekkei after a change, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, stop using it and delete your data.

14. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go exclusively to the competent courts in Switzerland where we are based, unless mandatory law gives you, as a consumer, the right to bring a claim where you live. If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest still applies, and the invalid part is replaced by the valid rule closest to its intent.
